Who is RDX TECHNOLOGIES?
It all started with two brothers, a passion for Airsoft, and a simple question:
“Why doesn’t it sound real?”
As lifelong Airsoft enthusiasts — and identical twins — we’ve always shared a love of design, engineering, and anything that fires our curiosity. But one thing kept bothering us: while airsoft, paintball and laser guns look and feel convincing, the sound was missing. The immersion just wasn’t there.
That small frustration sparked a big challenge.
So we got to work — experimenting, testing, and tearing apart every sound technology we could find. What began as a side project in a small workshop turned into a full-blown obsession to make training feel as real as it looks.
Through relentless trial and error, and a fair bit of Kiwi ingenuity, we developed our own patented sound simulation system — one that now serves everyone from weekend Airsoft warriors to defence and law enforcement training programs worldwide.
Our Mission
To bring true realism to training.
RDX develops advanced battlefield sound simulation technologies that make training immersive, effective, and as close to reality as possible — without the risks.
From the crack of a rifle to the boom of a 30mm cannon or IED, our systems deliver sound and impact that transform both simulation and performance.
From Backyard Battles to Battlefield Training
What started in the Airsoft community has evolved into technology trusted by military and law enforcement organisations around the world.
Our patented systems now support:
- Consumers – elevating Airsoft and tactical games with immersive realism
- Law Enforcement – providing practical, sensory-rich training environments
- Military Training – simulating large-calibre and complex battlefield conditions
Meet the Founders
We’re twin brothers (Shane & Mark) from rural New Zealand, raised on a “figure it out” philosophy — if you don’t know how to do something, you learn, you try again, and you don’t quit.
One of us engineers the hardware and mechanical design, the other handles the firmware and electronics — and together, we’ve built a team capable of developing technology from every angle.
Our journey took us from a farming upbringing to careers in industrial electronics, where we learned how to design, build, and refine high-performance systems. RDX grew from that same mindset: perseverance, innovation, and self-driven problem-solving.
What began as a passion project between two brothers has become a company pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in realistic simulation technology — and we’re only getting started.
RDX — Real Sound. Real Training. Real Results.
